In 1962 and 1965 he traveled with the rest of the group (Ernesto Deira, Romulo Macció, and Luis Felipe Noé) to Paris and New York. During his travels to New York he discovered Pop art, an experience which made an important impact on his art. In addition to his work as a visual artist, for several years after his trip to New York until his death in 1971, he was a song-writer and performer.
