William Glackens

In 1895 twenty-five-year-old Glackens was traveling in Europe for the first time. Earlier, in Philadelphia, he had shared a studio with Robert Henri and John Sloan. Years later in New York, the three organized the controversial modern art sensation, the Armory Show of 1913.
