Trompe-l'œil still-life painter. Began artistic training at the Art Insititute of Chicago. Later studied at Art Students League in NY, where he came under the influence of John Sloan. During WWII, Bohrod went to South Pacific as an artist-correspondent for Life magazine. In 1948 succeded John Steuart Curry as artist-in-residence at the U. of Wisconsin, where he remained until his death.
