Object Description: Manuel Felguérez was a pioneer in the development of geometric abstraction in Mexico during the 1960s and 1970s, participating in the international art scene during the post-war period. Interested in science and computers, he sought to create artworks that functioned as aesthetic machines, often using mathematics to determine variations in shape and color. The results test our visual perception and suggest the existence of multiple spaces. For instance, here the black shape on the left implies three-dimensional spaces located, at the same time, before and behind the gray and red plane.
