Object Description:
This etching renders a scene along the Thames with two references to Whistler: his house, indicated by the bright-lit wall with two windows, and a distinct style, with the motif set in the middle ground and clean line work, that quotes that artist’s early works. Haden and Whistler were close friends until the latter’s self-promotion and exclusive claim to reviving etching took their toll.
