Object Description: Polychrome decoration uses surface paint in vivid shades of pink, blue, and other colors, but it is much less durable than black- or red-figure painting. The male and female figures barely visible on the body of this vase would have been more defined when they were painted. Polychrome vases were designed only for display, usually in funerary contexts.
