Object Description: Trained as an artist and designer in Uruguay, his adopted country, Antonio Llorens embraced abstraction early in his career. In Montevideo, he participated in the local Madí group, and later joined others dedicated to abstraction, such as Arte No-Figurativo [No-Figurative Art] and Grupo 8 [Group 8]. This untitled painting shows Llorens’s predilection for hard-edge geometry, bright solid colors, and bold compositional structures shaped by his interest in graphic design.
